Join us for the second annual gala fundraiser celebrating the triumphs of refugees at The Terrace at The Greensboro Coliseum!
While we appreciate international music and dance, we will enjoy drinks and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Guests will experience interactive displays that bring awareness to the plight of refugees in Greensboro and around the world, and how NAI supports their journey to become a vital part of our community. This promises to be a night of fun, hope, and community resilience.
We look forward to connecting with you at this special event!
David began his career as an actor and singer in NYC, performing in theaters across the nation. After witnessing 9/11 in person, he began traveling down a different road with a focus on faith and human rights.
His life's calling became apparent while visiting immigrants and asylum seekers in detention centers for several years during graduate school. He received degrees from the University of Miami, Union Theological Seminary and Columbia University, and has worked with the World Council of Churches, Interfaith America, FaithAction International House, and is currently the Executive Director of Lumunos.
He has developed several nationally recognized programs that have built bridges of understanding, trust, and cooperation between newcomers and existing citizens that have been replicated in communities across the country, including: the Detention Visitation network, the FaithAction ID program, and the Becoming Neighbors initiative. He is also an ordained minister in the United Church of Christ and has been a human rights volunteer for the UCC in Kenya, Bolivia, and East Timor, as well as the United Nations.
David lives in Chicagoland with his wonderful family, where he loves to bike, kayak, and sing at local breweries around the Fox River Valley.
